In June 2006, after walking upstairs and getting out of breath, I decided it was time to do something. I contacted Motive8me to see what they could do. Truly amazing and helpful. I was started off on brisk walks over a period of 6 weeks or so . It appeared that my trainer Jez had competed in many marathons and running races. An idea began to form, as I became interested in running the London Marathon. 2 reasons: 1 for personal fitenss/health. The other to raise money for my late friends new charity. The Burton D'Souza Brain Tumour Trust.

I was started with a programme, designed over the long term, to run the Marathon in April 2007. It started with a 1minute run followed by 2 minute walk ( to recover ) repeated 5 times. I didnt know what i had let myself in for. Was so hard at the time. However, as weeks progressed i managed my first 3 mile run without stopping in Mid September 2006. I was delighted. Just repeat this nearly 9 times and I would be there. Weeks passed and by December 2006 I had completed my first 10 mile run without stopping. Just 3 months of 2007 saw me complete many miles running, including a twenty mile and eighteen mile run ready for the half Marathon on April 1st. Completed and delighted. Taper down in April, ready for April 22nd Marathon.
The day came and the race was completed. Emotions ran high. I was delighted.

In essence, I was taken from a 'couch potato' to marathon runner in 6 months. Without Motive8me, I wouldnt have had the training to complete, what was one of the hardest marathons London has staged.

If anyone asked me, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Motive8me for whatever purpose they need. I shall be carrying on my training with them, as i now want to improve my times.

"I had been interested in competing in a triathlon for some time, but wasn’t sure how to or where to start with the training. With a busy work schedule and limited training time I kept pushing the thought aside until I came across motive8me I contacted them and spoke about my goal and they offered to put together a training plan tailor-made for me. The service and advice was fantastic. The online plan meant I could train when was convenient for me. My emailed questions were replied to efficiently and with personal knowledge, they were able to offer sound advice and guidance from basic training queries to preparation on race day. The training plan was regularly changed to keep me motivated and within 3 months I was ready to compete. Without the aid of motive8me I would never have achieved my goal. Thanks for all your support and advice."

"I contacted Motive8me initially to lose weight and regain my fitness following years of avoiding exercise. I'm not a fan of gyms and my job doesn't afford me much time away from my desk so Motive8me designed the program around road running and easy to follow exercises I could do at home. Having built up my fitness levels and losing 4 stone in weight I decided to enter the London Marathon 2007. Motive8me sent weekly training schedules, each week building up distance and included hill and fahrlek training. Any questions I had were answered promptly and the training schedules were sent in plenty of time for me to plan my week. I completed the marathon in 4hrs 47mins. Motive8me have now written me a fresh program to help me improve my speed over short distances and improve my core strength.

I found Motive8me perfect for my lifestyle and fitness needs. It has helped me build confidence in my abilities and actually enjoy the exercise."

"'Life changing experience' is the only way I can explain what has happened to me since I went online and found MOTIVE8ME! After hitting 50 and looking at myself becoming an over the hill out of condition mum and Nan, I feel I can now take on all the challenges that life has to throw at me. Fitter, slimmer, healthier and with more energy than I ever had before, are all as a result of following the online training programme designed for me. I feel that I have a new lease on life and I look forward to its challenges. I have skied for the first time this year, tackled the London to Brighton Bike ride and endured the Snowdonia Challenge.
Thank you Motive8me!"

"My life revolves around trying to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle and as a Physical Education teacher; I think I should try to lead by example. To this end I have always belonged to a gym and followed a regular training programme. However, just like my pupils, I too found that I needed additional motivation and something to take me out of my "comfort zone" - Hello Motive8me! The online fitness plan was tailored to my needs and provided me with new challenges. The clearly structured sessions enabled me to focus totally on my training with no worries about planning for the next workout."
